Their white bark, marked with bold black lines, always feels both strong and delicate, like nature's own brushstrokes. In this latest painting, I wanted to capture that sense of quiet resilience and the gentle energy that fills the forest in autumn.
This piece was inspired by early morning walks in Northern Ontario, where the air is crisp and the light filters softly through the leaves. I used acrylics to layer the bold, expressive strokes, letting the colors of fall, warm ochres, golds, and hints of red, dance across the canvas. The background hints at distance evergreens and a sky just waking up, while the birch trunks stand tall, inviting you to pause and breathe.
